1910 Punch cards are among the most desirable of all Cuban baseball cards. What many collector don't know is that there is a variation of Punch called "Ramon Carreras." On the bottom of the card, where it normally says, "Punch" it says "Ramon Carreras" instead. I've included images of those cards, the only two I'm aware of with that variation, which is similar to what "La Moda" is to Billikens. Ramon Carreras was the photographer for the great portraits used in the Punch set.

The item in this lot is a 1910 Ramon Carreras cabinet card of Rogelio Valdes, which uses the same image as his Punch card, which I've also shown an example of. The reverse has advertising for Ramon Carreras' photography studio and includes an image of the photographer, himself. Measures 4 1/4" by 6 1/2". In theory, these cabinet cards were produced for the entire set of Punch cards, but this is the only one that ever surfaced, and is likely the only surviving example. A Holy Grail item for any Cuban baseball card collection.
