Lot Description  

Almendares won the Cuban League Championship for the 1953-54 season. On February 13th, 1954, at the Rancho Luna restaurant, the team held a victory banquet for player, executives and their families to celebrate their championship. The item in this lot is a program and menu from that banquet. It originates from the estate of Almendares team member and former Major Leaguer, Earl Rapp. Included in the lot is a newspaper clipping showing a photo of the team celebrating in the locker room by pouring champagne on Rapp. A unique piece of Cuban baseball history.
