December, 1946 issue of Almanaque Deportivo magazine. Year 1, issue #9 with Roberto Ortiz on the cover. 1946-47 Almanaque Deportivo cards were issued in sheets within the pages of Almanaque Deportivo magazine. The cards were meant to be cut out and glued into an album made for the set. The magazines turn up from time to time, but almost never have the baseball cards still in them. Once every few years you will find a sheet of 4 cards available. But magazines like this are incredibly rare. This is the first issue that had cards in it. It has 4 sheets, each containing 4 cards, for a total of 16 cards. In the next few issues they continued to have cards, but stopped before completing the set when they changed the size of the magazine to a larger version that no longer had cards in them. So the checklist that is listed, and the spaces that are in the album itself, have many cards that were never produced, like Ray Dandridge, for example. This issue measures about 5.75" by 8.5". The covers are loose, but the interior is in excellent shape, including the sheets of cards. There are 48 pages in total. The cards inside include several Negro Leaguers. Includes:
