Warfield was one of the best second basemen in the history of the Negro Leagues and was a part of the "Million Dollar Infield" along with Oliver Marcelle, Dick Lundy, and Jud Wilson on the 1929 Baltimore Black Sox. Warfield was not only the starting second baseman, but was also the manager, leading the team to the American Negro League championship.
