The Cienfuegos team won the championship for the 1929-30 season. To commemorate this accomplishment, a set of real photo postcard were produced, a studio portrait of each player in uniform. Only a handful have ever turned up, all of them trimmed and in horrible condition. It is unknown how many examples survived, but only a few different players have surfaced, one example each. This one pictures Negro League legend Pelayo Chacon, who was the player/manager of this championship team. Chacon began his playing career in 1908 and played in his native Cuba through the 1931-32 season. He was also a legend in Venezuela where he played and managed in the early 1930s. He was the father of Elio Chacon who played for the Philadelphia Philles in the early 60s.
