Cards from the Castro era (post-1960) are more scarce than the toughest of Cuban baseball card issues from the 1920s and earlier. Cards from the 1987 Circulo de Veteranos del Deporte set occasionally turn up, but they are rare. They measure about 3" by 4" and are on thick cardboard stock. The reverse has a 1987 calendar. Antonio Pacheco is one of the greatest players of the Cuban amateur era. He was a mainstay on the Cuban National team winning championship at all levels of play including the Gold medal in the Olympics. Out of 25 International competitions he participated in, Pacheco hit .400 or better in 11 of them. Pacheco, Omar Linares, and Orestes Kindelan are considered the three best players of the Cuban amateur era.
