Dobie Moore was one of the greatest shortstops in the history of the Negro Leagues. He was a member of the 25th Infantry Wreckers as well as the original Kansas City Monarchs. Had he not been shot by his girlfriend and suffered a compound fracture jumping out of a second story window to escape her, he would certainly already have a plaque in Cooperstown. He still might some day. This is his 1923-24 Billiken card, which shows him as a member of the Santa Clara team that was the greatest Cuban baseball team ever assembled. The card is ungraded only because it has never been sent it to be graded. It is absolutely authentic and not trimmed or altered in any was and should definitely receive a number grade if it were submitted, although it's impossible to say what a grading company will ever do as they are often wildly inconsistent with their standards. Holder or not, it's still a Billiken Dobie Moore card, and that by itself is pretty amazing.

NOTE: 25% of the winning bid for this lot will be donated directly to relief efforts to help the victims of the devastating hurricanes that struck Puerto Rico and The U.S. Virgin Islands.
